Explore opportunities for employment with companies that believe in providing opportunities for those with a criminal record
It is often very difficult for felons and ex-offenders to get jobs once they are released. The key to staying free and enjoying life is to find steady employment. The sooner they are able to get jobs, the greater are their chances of not going back to prison. That is often easier said than done. Many people with criminal records feel that they have no chance at jobs. They feel that no employers hire felons and ex-offenders. This is not true. I know first hand that employers hire ex-offenders and felons everyday!
I was told many years ago that chances are not given, they are earned. They can be earned by becoming employable. You can become marketable by learning exactly what your skills are and how they can be of value to a company. You must be able to express your value to an employer in a professional way. You could start learning how to get a job with a criminal record starting today. There is a powerful step-by-step guide that has helped thousands of felons get jobs. You can find it here: "From Jail to a Job"
There will be a greater opportunity for success when ex-offenders and felons apply to companies that have history of hiring those with criminal backgrounds.
Sun Cedar Hires Felons |
THESE COMPANIES WILL NOT HIRE YOU JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD!
That is not what this list means. This is a list of companies that do not discriminate against ex-offenders and felons. You still have to do your best to get hired just like anyone else who applies for jobs. To take full advantage of this list, you have to become the type of professional that employers would want to hire. Look in the mirror. Do you look like a high quality person? Do you look like you can compete with anyone for a job? If not, you have some work to do. If you do, work on your interviewing skills and apply for every job you feel you are qualified to do.
Take a look at the list. You will find it is a great list. Feel free to share it with anyone who will benefit from it.
Thanks,
Eric

Get an updated list of companies that hire felons here
This is quite a list. Each of these companies has hiring practices that are favorable to ex-offenders and felons. Don't think just because you are a felon, you will be hired. Every job at every employer is not available to felons. The nature of the conviction will always be considered and you will have to compete for available jobs, but this list is a great place to start. Take your time and check the websites of the employers you are interested in. Many of them will have a link to their open positions (usually at the bottom of the page.) The will be listed under "Careers" or "Employment."

Best of luck to you!

I noticed on this list of "great" companies that the United States federal, state and county authorities are absent. I find that odd because the worst terrorists, fraudsters and tax evaders function and manipulate our social engineering to serve oligarchies - both US and foreign based cartels.
ReplyDeleteI think the truth about ex-felons and jobs are horrible outcomes for most. A positive solution would be for the SBA to offer ex-felons a 100% opportunity for real funding after finishing a startup camp (90 day program). I think ex-felons funded by the government is better than the cost of locking up repeat offenders because they can't get a job.
We live in very troubled times. It's Jim Crowesque for the ex-felon... and this will probably last for decades until the ex-felon minority becomes a competing majority.
I have applied to SEVERAL of the companies listed above, and have been rejected by MANY of them due to my felony history (in excess of 10 years ago) ...... the thing about this is that MOST companies CLAIM to hire ex-felons due to the 'possibility of discriminating against them', and yet actually hire VERY few KNOWN ex-felons! I have TRIED every way imaginable to find employment HONESTLY, and have had almost NO SUCCESS! In Pennsylvania, there USED to be a 7-10 year limit on the felony conviction questions while applying for employment. The question use to be posed in a way that an ex-felon could have answered the question HONESTLY to the negative IF their conviction was in excess of the time asked on the application. (in the past 7 years have you been convicted?) Now the question is posed in a way to disallow an ex-felon from EVER being able to HONESTLY answer the question to the negative (have you EVER been convicted?)In essence, the screening process against hiring convicted felons is conducted NOT through the BACKGROUND checks BUT through the affirmative answers to the CONVICTION QUESTION on the application itself. Those applying for the job, and answering to the affirmative the conviction question, are in essence doing their own background check...... WHAT WOULD BE INTERESTING IS KNOWING EXACTLY HOW MANY KNOWN EX-FELONS THESE COMPANIES WHO CLAIM TO HIRE THEM ACTUALLY HAVE CURRENTLY EMPLOYED?? It is easy to say 'we hire them' without having to actually produce them...... justmythots!! Been there, done that, and lost hope a long time ago!!
ReplyDeleteSecond Chance Opportunity.
ReplyDeleteI will explain , in detail, driver take home averages of $900 to $1,200 weekly with home time of 7 to 10(Regional-NE, SE) or 14 to 21 (OTR).
If you have 1 year CDL-A Tractor Trailer experience with in the last 3 years, no more than 3 moving violations with in the last 3 years, challenged backgrounds are viewed case by case.
I request that you contact : A.Stafford @ 972-325-6129.
If you can make it 30 years straight you will still have to answer the "ever" question (wasn't so much like that a few years back) and now you will also be pushing 50 and have age discrimination when you have to put your highschool diploma dates in to complete your online job application. The only job that I got where I was honest about my conviction was one where they played me of as being handicapped as a drug addict even though I had been clean a year (1980's with the lowest level felony drug charge). I suggest applying off of craigslist and to small companies. Then you can get the interview and explain. I have been looking for a job for 3 months and have not been called for a single interview that asked the question. If you are filling out an online application by one of the online services that people hire to screen don't expect to get a call, they will screen your application, they can't send someone on who could cost their client problems. They won't say that in order not to look bad (illegal in few states). They will screen you for anything they can find that puts up red flags. It really is not worth lying, I can't because of my beliefs, it's not worth worrying about getting fired, and you won't get un-employment if they fire you for it. It is easier and costs less gas to fill out online but forget it. To us an online application should be a red flag. Pound the pavement, find a forgiving employer.
ReplyDeleteWalmart has zero tolerance for exfelons they are lying.
ReplyDeleteSondra,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you are incorrect. I'm not sure who spoke to but many of my students are working at Walmart here in NJ.
