Felons can find jobs and assistance

Job Search Expert Offers Advice for Ex-offenders and Convicted Felons Looking for Jobs

Felons Jobs
Hello,

My name is Angel and I'm having a really hard time. I am a felon and I can't seem to get a job anywhere. Nobody wants to deal with me . My parent agreed to help me get back on my feet. Now my parent is going back on their word so I'm all alone in a rough city trying to make it but nobody wants to give me a second chance.

I'm the mother of 4 and I can't get any help. I never went to jail I got probation and house arrest. I have finished house arrest but I have another year of probation and nobody is trying to give me the time of day. I'm about to be in the street and I have nothing to fall back on. No money, no car, and no home. I feel like I can't go on but I can't give up. Is there somebody, anybody out there I can go to.

I'm in Chicago and wow its hard here if u aren't a felon. I committed a white collar crime, conspiracy to commit fraud that seems to be the worst crime. Nobody wants to give u another chance. I messed up and I know I did and I don't ever wanna do anything illegal ever again. I was trying to feed my family. Being a single mom is a very challenging job but I know I don't have to commit a crime to survive but nobody will even give me a chance to prove that or myself. What do I do?

Angel

Hello Angel,

My suggestion to you is to contact your local United Way office. The United Way could guide you to any number of services they support that may be able to help you and your family. You may also ask about services that assist ex-offenders and felons.

You can find the United Way in you area here: http://www.uw-mc.org/

As I always suggest to ex-offenders and felons looking for jobs, your local One-stop Career Center Can also assist you. There you will find a long list of services that can assist you in finding a job or a career. Take a look at the video below:

I hope this helps.

Dear Angel,

I know the problems that you are going through. I have been through some of the same things. I want to share with you a gift. The gift is ownership of where you are. At one point in my own life I looked around and found my self-alone, scared and tending to a child by myself. At that time I felt like giving up! I remember saying a short prayer to God. I asked for mercy on my situation and help with staying faithful. I think everything possible was thrown at me but I kept fighting. Against all my odds that I put upon myself. I decided to make it! I am still fighting and I know that if God can forgive my errors that man has no choice but to follow through.

I am going to ask you to do something that might seem a bit strange but I believe that this will help. I am going to ask you to look at your children and think of them. No matter what you are going through they love you very much. The funny thing is that are children love us where we are not where we want to be. You have done a very brave thing by sharing your situation with millions of strangers. Some of us have been where you are and some of might end up in the same place at on point of our lives but many not have the strength to talk about it. Here is the point of my blog... You will come out of this on top! Remember to stay faithful to doing the right thing no matter how hard it gets.

my name is danny...im an ex felon,ex gangbanger, and ex drug dealer...life has gotten so much harder since dropped all those things and things are still out of place for me. I cant find a job,my daughters mother is trying to take my daughter from me,and my family is in for me to be the man of the house, the list go's on. But im not here to complain or seek pitty (not saying that anyone else here is),no im here to share some advice with my fellow strugglers...see life is hard for us rightnow because thats the road we built in front of us,we must walk that road to prove to ourselves and God (or whoever you believe in) that we are ready to live a new life. Facing our problems head on and being determined to not lose is key. I know its not easy as it sounds,im still struggling with things myself, but that cant be our crutch to say "i cant do it". Believe in yourself and give faith to whomever is your man up stairs... Its not about what happens to you in life that matters, its how you respond to it that does...Godbless,be strong and keep the faith friends...If you need to talk or whatever you can reach me at dltorres84@yahoo.com...No I dont work for this site and no im not trying to pull you to some site. Im just a reguler guy from chicago who's reaching out to others in my situation.
